Common problem and solution for EVA film lamination

1, De-lamination

The main reason is lamination temperature or temperature holding time is not enough, Double check the temperature (glass surface) and increase the temperature or prolong the temperature holding time.

Moisture proof powder left on the glass surface, make sure the glass is clean enough before layout with interlayer film. 

Fiber, paper or fabric laminated into the glass exposure outside is easily absorbed moisture when polishing or stock, which results in de-lamination. We suggest the laminated material should be smaller than the glass which mean the EVA can fully sealed the insert into glass.

The edge polishing process should be done at least 24 hours later after lamination. Release the extra glue using sharpen cutter before polishing, avoid to stretch the extra glue which was not cleaned.

Improper sealant may also caused some untoward effects on EVA film. So sample swatches should be made to test between the sealant and EVA.

Lamination temperature or temperature holding time is not enough, please re-cook the glass again by doing adjustment of lamination program.

3, Bubble

Confirm vacuum pump working well, no leaking or blocked.  

Low range temperature setting up should below 65 degree( glass surface temperature), because melting point of eva film is 65 degree. Or else, left air will be sealed into the laminated glass which will surely caused the bubble problem. 

If the bubbles are happens around the glass edge only, then the problem is Air return.   Continue the vacuum process, until temperature cool down under 60 degree.

If the bubbles shows as line mark. Then thicker EVA film should be used, because the surface of tempered glass is not perfect flat.

The bubble problem may also happen if the lamination temperature is much more higher than the lamination formula, so proper lamination temperature and temperature are both important.
